1.Cabhrú is committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who shares their information with us in the course of our work.

This Privacy Statement sets out how we collect, use and sore your personal information, (this means any information that identifies or could identify you). We want our supporters and those that we support to have confidence in how we collect and process any personal information shared with us.

All of Cabhrú’s data collection and processing/ storing is done in a manner that complies with the Data Protection Bill 2018.

Cabhrú is a Data Controller .

2. Your DATA – what we collect, why we collect it and how we use it:

The Personal Information we collect may include details such as your name, date of birth, email address, postal address, telephone number and credit/debit card details.

If you apply for accommodation with Cabhrú and are successful, we will retain a personal tenant file for the duration of your tenancy.

If you are unsuccessful, we will retain your application documents for six months maximum, or for a shorter period such as you may request.

Revenue, Auditors or Govt.Depts. may require longer periods for holding data.

If you become a donor to Cabhrú, we will keep your personal details if you give permission.

If you wish to apply for an employment or volunteer position within Cabhrú, we will hold your relevant personal data as long as is required.

 

What do we use your information for?

We use information for several purposes including:

  • Supporting the delivery of services to tenants( our legal contract with you as Landlords)

  • Financial procedures / Processing transactions

  • Property management

  • Human Resources

Sensitive Personal Information

We will use sensitive personal information, e.g. medical data, sexuality, race, etc only where necessary to maintain &process tenant records.

If requested by statutory bodies, e.g. Gardai, Govt.Depts. to release sensitive information, Cabhrú will request confirmation of the Statute under which such data is requested.

 

3. How long will we store your information?

As long as tenant data needs to be processed by our systems we will maintain that data securely.

As long as service providers are contracted by us, we will store relevant data.

As long as employees remain employees, and as required by Revenue, Cabhrú will store relevant personal data.

In the case of past tenants or unsuccessful applicants, we retain data for a maximum of 6 months, or lesser time as the individual may request.

 

 4. Legal basis for using your information

Cabhrú complies with GDPR legislation by implementing the following 8 basic rules:-

  1. Obtain and process the information fairly

  2. Keep it only for one or more specified and lawful purposes

  3. Process it only in ways compatible with the purposes for which it was given to you initially

  4. Keep it safe and secure

  5. Keep it accurate and up-to-date

  6. Ensure that it is adequate, relevant and not excessive

  7. Retain it no longer than is necessary for the specified purpose or purposes

  8. Give a copy of his/her personal data to any individual, on request.


 

5. Sharing your data

Cabhrú will only share your data for one of two reasons:-

a. In order to carry out its contracted function as a landlord or employer,

b. As may be required by statutory bodies.

 

6. Keeping your information safe

Cabhrú processes and stores all personal data on a highly-secure server held on-site and in secure cloud-based servers.

Access to data by non-authorised personnel is prevented by a combination of procedural, physical and on-line security measures. Only staff who need access to personal information can access that data.

Cabhrú cannot guarantee 100% security of communications received or sent via Internet or other digitised format, and therefore cannot be held responsible for the fraudulent, unauthorised or malicious use of intercepted information.
